This mentorship session will be a first introduction into the vast, complex and constantly shifting subject of ethics in contemporary art. We will look at a number of artist's work and ask should artists be held to the same standards as other people? It is right that some artists provoke, shock, and disturb within their works?

This session will cover:

• What is the relationship between art and ethics?

• Seeing examples of consent, exploitation, and power structures

• Why / and do some artists cause controversy intentionally?

• When does it go too far? What is cancel culture?
